Secret agent man......
This has been a crazy month for us. It started out with a bang and we’ve yet to see the end of it. We left at the end of May for Nampula in order to get the car checked out. We are here in Nampula (with just the things that could fit in the car!) waiting for our documents to be approved, and hopefully we will be back in Montepuez before the end of next week. Please be praying that this will come to an end by next week. Onto some happier news!!!
You probably have heard by now, from the soon to be proud grandparents, but we are going to have a baby! Yes, some of you may find it hard to believe, but we are pregnant, and expecting in mid-February! We are very excited and we have plans to go to South Africa for the birth and one or two prenatal visits along the way as well. There is another couple, the Rolands, who are expecting a baby in mid-January, so it will be fun to experience this pregnancy with them. Right now I am in the middle of my 6th week, so it is still very early, and the baby is still so tiny! I am feeling very well, and am not experiencing the nausea that many pregnant women have, but those days may still be yet to come! I have noticed that I tire easily, but that is all so far. So early next year we will have our lives turned upside down, yet again! And we are thinking that sometime in the fall of next year we will take a furlough, so all of you can meet our little one then! We are hoping that the grandparents will be able to come visit us when the baby comes, too.
Our team has been spending considerable amount of time trying to evaluate the needs of this area and choose specific locations to live and work. The needs of this area are vast and numerous and there are many things to consider in making this decision. Things like, the small existing church in Montepuez that needs help in maturation, the unreached population of Makua that live North of Montepuez, the neighboring peoples like the Yao and Ngoni without any Christian witness, the entire government situation that we’ve been involved in, these and others are large factors in the process of this decision. Our hearts desire in all this is that we will be good stewards not only with the gifts He's blessed us with but also with the area that He has entrusted us to work in. Pray that God will give us the gift of discernment to be wise about these and other decisions.

The peace of the Lord,
Rusty and Ann Caldwell

Points of Prayer:
1. Our pea-sized child, and Ann’s health during pregnancy
2. Peoples of northern Mozambique
3. The team during this time of confusion
4. Our marriage
5. That we will be allowed to return to our homes in Montepuez
