About the YAO Team
We are a fellowship that is committed to work together alongside the Yao people. As a fellowship, we try to operate as a covenanted community working to help fulfill the Author’s call & character development in each other. Through intentional, communal practices, we hope to be a peculiar, distinctive people that give witness to the other Way of Life. As a witnessing community our aim is to follow St. Francis of Assisi’s advice
Preach the good news ... Use words if necessary!
We believe mission is fundamentally dialogically, consequently, we like to talk a lot! We try to build our fellowship and work on relationships that sustain and cultivate this dialogue. In the mysterious dance of communication, we believe listening is fundamental. We listen first. Because the good news of the world is shown, we expect our witnessing to be verbally in the form of explanation to the questions we hear people give to us. In initiating dialogue with the Yao, each other and the Author of this story, we hope to be catalysts for the good life!
