Our Vision “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns! The ends of the earth will see the deliverance of our God.” Our feet are here on the mountains of northwestern Mozambique to reveal in honest community a message of peace and reconciliation to a people who have yet to know the mercy of our God. There are over two million such peoples living in a forgotten part of Southern Africa. They are a people group called the Yao and find their origin in the mountains of the Niassa province in Mozambique. Our aim will be to live among the Yao, to join in their story, and learn from them about their language and culture in order to more accurately model the kingdom of God. Our vision will be to plant indigenous churches and help them in maturation through teaching and displaying Christian community in our homes and also as a team. Being aware of our human weaknesses, as a team, we are serious about accountability and bearing each other's burdens. We also acknowledge each member's unique gifts and integrate those gifts into the mission. In the effort to model our ministry according to the model of Jesus Christ, our mission will strive to be holistic. The kingdom of God touches all aspects of life. Therefore, we will integrate the gospel message in compassionate service through cross-cultural development strategies. We believe the gospel demands that we do not ignore primary health care, economic assistance (agricultural, business), education, and family life. Indeed, such a vision is beyond our capabilities. Our posture must be in continual humility and repentance in regard to our imperfection. However, we believe that this is not a human made ideology but the working of our merciful Father. “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where briers grew, myrtles will sprout up. This miracle will bring great honor to the Lord’s name; it will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.”
